Meet Our Wellness Club Team:

He has owned and operated 6 restaurants including the landmark eatery, Natural Foods Restaurant in South Florida. In addition, Drew was also the executive chef and food and beverage director of the Pritikin Longevity Center for 5 1/2 years, where he worked closely with the culinary, nutrition and medical departments in implementing guidelines similar to those of the Wellness Club.  He also enjoyed time as an instructor at Johnson and Wales, as well as the Vice President of Orange County California’s largest catering company.  He is happily married and the proud father of 4 boys.

Holly Ferrell, Wellness Club Associate Team Leader

Holly is a certified yoga instructor who believes in the transformative power of yoga to reconnect the mind with the body.  Her style is strong, alignment-specific Vinyasa; she also has a background in gentler, treatment-specific classes for eating disorder rehabilitation.  During her undergraduate study at the University of Missouri-Columbia in Peace Studies, Philosophy, and Religious Studies, Holly first discovered the capacity holistic living holds for effecting change in both the body and the mind.  Having been vegan for 14 years, she has personally experienced the incredible effect a plant-strong diet can have on one’s life.  Her years of experience in grass-roots activism, yoga, and a holistic approach to life has created an undeniable passion to spread this knowledge through her work.

Juan Pablo Chavez, Wellness Club Chef

Juan Pablo has been sharing his passion for cooking at Whole Foods since 2005.  Originally from Mexico, he attended the Institute of Culinary Education and trained at acclaimed New York City restaurants Per Se and Le Bernardin.  As the owner of Healthy Meals JPC, Juan Pablo also works as a personal chef and has been teaching New York City residents healthy cooking classes for years.  He is a trained economist, a yoga and swimming enthusiast and is delighted to work at the Wellness Club to promote a healthy lifestyle environment for all our stakeholders.

Bethany Butler, Wellness Club Educator

Bethany Butler is a graduate of The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and The Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York City.  As a certified health and nutrition coach, her aim is to help change the Standard American Diet into one that is largely whole foods based.

As an actress, Bethany has appeared in commercials, soaps, prime-time drama and Broadway. A graduate of New York  University, Tisch School of the Arts and coached by some of New York City’s finest acting teachers of the Method technique, she has been encouraged by teachers to take up coaching herself. Her acting experience has allowed her many opportunities of public speaking and working with award-winning celebrities as Mariska Hargitay, James Earl Jones and Joan Cusack, to name a few.

Laura LoRusso, Healthy Eating Specialist

Laura has been a part of Whole Foods Market’s healthy eating initiatives since 2011.  Prior to joining Whole Foods Market, she worked in the fundraising and development field for nearly a decade at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.  That experience inspired her to dedicate her career to promoting health and wellness with a focus on disease prevention.  Laura completed the Chef’s Training Program at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts and pursued further training at acclaimed New York City restaurant, Mercer Kitchen. Laura also received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Le Moyne College.  An outdoor cycling enthusiast, Laura is thrilled to be a part of the Wellness Club to motivate and inspire others to reach their wellness goals and is a firm believer that to create change you have to take one step at a time.
